Michael Trend

Michael St. John Trend CBE (born 19 April 1952) is a politician in the United Kingdom.

Trend is the son of Sir Burke Trend. He was a leader writer for the Daily Telegraph. He was Conservative Party member of Parliament for Windsor in Berkshire, first elected in 1992. He was a frontbench spokesman and Tory vice-chairman until 2000.

He stepped down at the 2005 election following an investigation which forced him to pay back a parliamentary allowance of £90,277 meant to fund London accommodation for MPs from faraway constituencies, despite him going home to Windsor most evenings.
