Merritt Butrick born September 3, 1959 in Gainesville, Florida, and died March 17, 1989 in New York City, New York from AIDS. Merritt was an American actor who was best known for his role as Captain Kirk's son David Marcus in the movies Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. He also appeared in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Symbiosis". Earlier in his career he starred as "Johnny Slash" Ulasewicz in the sitcom Square Pegs.
