Information about the Lyricus Teaching Order comes from two websites (see External Links, below). The first website was the Wingmakers website, then a new website specific to the Lyricus Teaching Order was created. The newer website for the Lyricus Teaching Order describes the Wingmakers website as a logical start for the efforts of the Lyricus Teaching Order, but as just the first step in an 80 year project aimed at the eventual scientific discovery of the nature of the human soul.
Examples of Lyricus Teaching
Neurobiology of Consciousness
James, the Wingmaker who was originally named at the Wingmakers website as the source of the core material at that website, has been identified as being a Lyricus Teacher. James provided a description[1] of some of the key brain regions that are important for a scientific understanding of the human soul. In particular, the intralaminar nuclei of the thalamus and the thalamic reticular nucleus (recent review article: [2]). These brain regions happen to be components of one of the most discused theories of consciousness, that proposed by Francis Crick in 1984 [3] and later elaborated in his book, The Astonishing Hypothesis (subtitle: "The Scientific Search for the Soul"). According to James, we must expect another 20 years of scientific research before we can fully understand the role of these brain regions in a scientific understanding of the soul. For now, it is of interest that neuroscientists are investigation the functions of these brain regions because of their roles in the control of information flow to the cerebral cortex.
Intuitive Intelligence
(see Theory of multiple intelligences)
The material below is from Lyricus Discourse 6 (downloadable, "Techniques of the Intuitive Intelligence" [4]).
Lyricus Teaching states that the physical muscle of the heart is a surface manifestation of "intuitive intelligence". Beyond the physical heart is an "energetic" or "quantum" heart. According to Lyricus Teaching, humans are embedded in some sort of multidimensional environment and human emotions have an extension beyond one's body (see Theosophy) that is "processed" in some way by the "energetic heart".
Emotional good health can be achieved by correctly using the functions of the heart and brain through a four step process:
- invocation- being open to forgiveness and compassion
- imagination- visualizing a golden internal light, related to unconditional love
- release- allowing the imagined "refined light" to reside within (openness to change of one's memories, attitudes?)
- light connection- allowing the energetic heart to spread emotional authenticity through-out the body
Lyricus Teaching points towards cymatics as the beginnings of human understanding of the fundamental importance of vibrations in human existence. Music is described as a means to integrate the functions of the heart and brain and, conveniently, Windmakers music CDs can be purchased for this purpose.
