This article gives an overview of liberalism in Cuba. It is limited to liberal parties with substantial support, mainly proved by having had a representation in parliament. The sign ⇒ means a reference to another party in that scheme. For inclusion in this scheme it isn't necessary so that parties labeled themselves as a liberal party.

Introduction

Though there were some more or less truly liberal parties in Cuba, the name liberal became identified with the party of the oligarchy and dictatorship. Listed below are some of these truly liberal parties. Nowadays non-communist parties are banned in Cuba. This make the three liberal parties Liberal Democratic Party (Partido Liberal Democratico, observer LI), Democratic Solidarity Party (Partido Solidaridad Democratica, observer LI) and the Cuban Liberal Movement (Movimiento Liberal Cubano) illegal. In exile the Cuban Liberal Union (Unión Liberal Cubana, member LI) is active.

Cuban Revolutionary Party

1892: Left-wing liberals formed the Cuban Revolutionary Party (Partido Revolucionario Cubano)
1902: The PRC disappeared

ABC Party

1931: Oppositionals formed the ABC Party (Partido ABC)
1952: The Partido ABC is dissolved
