The eponymous ancestor of the Khazars. In King Joseph's Reply to Hasdai ibn Shaprut he is described as one of the sons of Togarmah and the brother of Bulgar, Ujur, Tauris, Avar, Uauz, Bizal, Tarna, Janur, and Sawir.
