Golkar (Indonesian Sekretariat Bersama Golongan Karya, or Joint Secretariat of Functional Groups) is a political party in Indonesia. Before 1999 it was the governing party under former president Suharto. After the 1999 legislative election , it captured 120 of 500 seats in the Indonesian House of Representatives , making it the second largest party. It is currently led by Jusuf Kalla.
Golkar gained 128 out of 550 seats in the 2004 legislative election.
